Our History

More Than 50 Years on the Gulf Coast

Bluewater Yacht Sales opened in 1972 as a family-owned dealership on the Gulf Coast. More than fifty years later, we still sell, service, and broker boats from two locations in Alabama.

1972
The Doors Open
Bluewater opens as a family-owned dealership on the Gulf Coast. Customer satisfaction came first then, and it still does.
1972 to 1990s
Bertram on the Gulf
We represented Bertram along the Gulf Coast for more than 25 years and built a reputation for straight answers.
1982
Orange Beach Marina
We bought Orange Beach Marina, extending our reach to a growing base of Gulf Coast boaters.
Late 1990s
Sportfishing and Center Consoles
The lineup shifted to express sportfishing boats, center consoles, and bay boats. Jupiter Marine, Regulator Marine, Albemarle, Pioneer, and Bulls Bay joined the roster.
Today
Two Locations, Full Service
Sales, brokerage, service, and parts now run out of two Alabama locations. Mag Bay Yachts and Alera Marine Group have joined a lineup that also includes Yamaha and Mercury power.

Bluewater Yacht Sales sells and services boats from two locations on the Gulf Coast: Mobile and Orange Beach, Alabama. We help families and seasoned captains find the right vessel for how they actually use the water, whether that means offshore fishing, cruising with the family, island hopping, or running hard on the weekend.

This site carries that same approach online. A Lifestyle Fit assessment narrows down the right boat category, then matches you with new and pre-owned inventory that fits. Owners can book service, order genuine Yamaha parts, and log trips in a digital logbook. Sellers can request a valuation, and anyone can run financing numbers before calling us.

The team is made up of lifelong boaters, certified Yamaha technicians, and marine salespeople who live and work on the Gulf Coast. Factory training plus time on the water is what makes our recommendations and repairs trustworthy. The goal has not changed since 1972: make buying, owning, and selling a boat feel straightforward.
